Systemic Couple Therapy
North, North West and Central London & Online

Relationships are built on patterns of connection. At times, couples find themselves caught in a cycle where they feel completely stuck, where both partners feel like no matter what they do, they end up in a stalemate.

Whether you are arriving to untangle a specific pattern of communication or relational stuckness, or safely explore a shifting crossroads in your life together, systemic psychotherapy focuses on the relationship and its patterns rather than locating problems as being inherent to an individual.

Shifting Relational Dynamics

Working with a relationship means holding two distinct lives in the room at once as well as the relationship. I am here to make sure neither voice gets lost or overshadowed. My focus is on helping you both look at the unspoken forces that shape how you talk to one another, and how you experience yourself and each other.

We naturally bring our whole history into our partnerships: our cultural backgrounds, family traditions, and differing ideas about how relationships work, who holds influence, and the roles we are expected to play. Dynamics also change dramatically across different life stages, as the reality of a couple without children is very different from that of a couple navigating parenthood.

Exploring these differences and transitions may reveal your unique communication patterns, allowing you to build new pathways of understanding and find a shared way forward built on genuine insight.

Holding Differing Perspectives

As two distinct individuals with your own life histories, you will frequently arrive with varied expectations, levels of readiness, or ideas about what needs to change. The process is designed to hold these complexities rather than smooth them over. The duration, pacing, and focus of our work are entirely dependent on your shared context:

• Short-Term Transitions and Alignment: Brief and targeted, like navigating an immediate life transition, managing an external stressor, or making a transparent decision about a relational crossroads.

• Co-Creating New Relational Meanings: Gradual and sustained unpacking of the unwritten agreements and unspoken expectations that have quietly settled into your relationship over time. Exploring how you both define things like closeness, independence, and support, helping you consciously reshape the daily culture of your partnership so it feels deeply authentic and supportive to you both.

No matter the path we take, our goals will always be defined collaboratively, ensuring they reflect and respect both of your needs.

Structure and Practicalities

While the therapeutic journey itself is fluid, the administrative container provides a safe and structured ground for both of you:

• The Shared Initial Consultation: A no fee, collaborative, low-pressure conversation where we map out your current relational landscape, explore what each of you hopes to achieve, and assess how it feels to work together. It is an opportunity for all parties to ensure the fit is right. You can check my availability here and book a consultation time that suits the both of you.

• Format: Sessions are conducted either in person (North / North West / Central London) or via a secure online platform, depending on what best accommodates your collective schedules.

• Pacing: We will decide together whether weekly or fortnightly sessions provide the right amount of containment and emotional breathing room for your current circumstances.
